FUBAR

Posted by ulimhd  Published in Word of The Day

There’s Sgt Rock comic, and a lot of “fubar” word in it. And here is what is said in wikipedia.

FUBAR is an acronym that commonly means “Fucked Up Beyond All Repair” (used to describe the state of some equipment) or “Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition” (used to describe a situation or scenario), which now exists in many variations. Although it originated in the US Armed Forces, its usage has spread to civilian environments.

Ah.. very FUBAR in deed.

Halah, ngaco.

Quid Pro Quo

Posted by ulimhd  Published in Word of The Day

Quid pro quo (Latin for “something for something”) indicates a more-or-less equal exchange or substitution of goods or services.

English speakers often use the term to mean “a favour for a favour” and the phrases “what for what”, “give and take”, “tit for tat (this for that)” have similar meanings.
